Thank you to the more than 50 residents of our community who attended the short accession proclamation ceremony outside St Mary’s Church on 11 September. The rain held off just long enough for our Chair, Councillor Hazel Field, to give the proclamation with Rev Paulette Gower and myself in attendance.

For most of us, this was – so far – a unique moment in our lives, and one which Minera Community Council was honoured and privileged to have marked in such a perfect setting.

Thank you also to everyone who has left messages of condolence in our book inside the church. The book will close tomorrow, Tuesday 20 September, at 6pm, and will then be sent to Buckingham Palace.
