Not what we want to see…..ever!

We really hate to have to publish articles like this, especially so soon after the absolutely fantastic day of creativity enjoyed by so many young people at the football field last Wednesday.

In the last week, the public bench outside Pen y Nant flats on Church Road in Minera was damaged with some kind of bladed tool, leaving dangerous sharp edges. A concerned resident reported the damage to us, and took it upon himself to effect immediate repairs to make the bench safe once again, for which we are most grateful.

This incident has now been compounded by a further one, as shown in the attached photograph. The picnic bench in the Minera play area has had its table top pulled off. It is clearly not an accident, and somebody set out to cause disruptive and senseless damage to a public asset for reasons known only to themself/themselves.

The bench will be repaired and put back into use. In the meantime north Wales Police are on alert to watch out for any further incidences of this kind of behaviour, which has absolutely no place in the Minera communities.

If you have any information relating to either incident, please pass on the details in strictest confidence to North Wales Police on the 101 telephone number. Many thanks.
