Marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Today – Friday 27 May – the children of Minera School will be enjoying a Jubilee Street Party as the centrepiece of their activities to mark the Platinum Jubilee. The party has been boosted by a contribution of £500 from Minera Community Council, which we were very pleased to provide.

We have also acquired bunting and plaques which will be appearing all around our five communities over the course of the coming weekend ahead of the national celebrations which run over the long bank holiday weekend, beginning next Thursday, 2 June.

St Mary’s Church will also be hosting a Jubilee afternoon tea, with prosecco, on Saturday afternoon 4 June. This isn’t a Community Council event, but we’re happy to promote it, and hope that the weather is kind on the day to ensure a good trunout!
