We were saddened to learn of the collapse, towards the end of the Christmas and New Year holiday, of one of the kilns at Minera Quarry. Fortunately the kiln was not near any footpaths, and no-one was close to the structure when it fell down. It is unfortunate nevertheless to see a part of our industrial heritage disappear in this way.
Minera Quarry Trust and North Wales Wildlife Trust are both actively reviewing the damage and the options for any restoration and safety work, and we will share any updates we receive. In the meantime, both organisations have their own websites where details will be made public, and which carry contact details for anyone wishing to know more.
