Christmas lights go up at St Mary’s Church

At our most recent Council meeting in November, Minera Community Council decided to make an investment in some festive illumination for our residents, and on Friday afternoon 3 December Councillors Nigel Jones, Tom Grundy and Jeff Belton (with his cherry picker) joined Minera CC Clerk David Hinchliffe to put this lights up along the avenue of Yew trees between the gates and the church entrance. The pictures don’t really do justice either to the efforts involved in hanging 100 metres of lights, or the very atmospheric effect they produced once darkness fell. We hope that these lights will bring some cheer to the Minera communities over the festive season, and that they will be the start of a tradition of providing Christmas lights for our residents.
